WE2 Digital completed a redesign of their corporate website in a static format and approached me as a motion designer to develop animation concepts. The goal was to make the new design more dynamic and engaging while maintaining its content-forward and professional aesthetic. At the time of publication, the project is still in progress: some ideas have already been implemented, while others are under review.
UI Animation Proposals for WE2 Digital Website
(Concept Stage)
Project Overview
Objective
Results
Even partial implementation of the animation concepts has made the website feel more dynamic and contemporary. Early feedback indicates that navigation feels smoother and more engaging, and the brand presence is more memorable.
Challenge
Credits
The redesigned website was visually appealing, but it was entirely static. The client wanted to integrate animations that would:
Strengthen the brand's visual identity.
Improve user experience and engagement.
Differentiate the site from competitors.
Client: WE2 DIGITAL AGENCY – a digital marketing agency based in Europe, specialising in branding, web development, and social media strategy.
Motion Design & UI Animation: Vadim Popov
Approach
1. Research & Analysis
I analysed the new website design, the brand guidelines, and the overall visual style to propose animations that would seamlessly fit into the interface.
2. Concept Development
I prepared a FIMO presentation with 12–13 animation proposals, including portfolio card animations, hover effects, logo animation, section transitions, microinteractions, and scroll-based animations. Each concept was presented with a short loop video to demonstrate the animation in context.
All Animation Proposals
Hover Effects for Cards
Background changes and icon appearance on interactive cards to encourage clicks. Improves interactivity and provides a clear visual cue that elements are clickable.

Featured Cards Image Fade
In the hero section, images on featured cards cycle with smooth fades, keeping content fresh and drawing attention without overwhelming the user.
Project Cards Scroll Reveal
On project listing pages, cards appear on scroll with a fade and slight offset, adding depth and guiding the viewing flow.
Homepage Section Parallax
Sections on the homepage feature a subtle parallax effect on scroll, adding depth and a dynamic feel to the browsing experience.
Experts Carousel Button Swipe
In the experts section, buttons slide the carousel with smooth easing and snap-to-card, giving clear motion feedback and controlled browsing.

Portfolio Page First-Load Reveal
On first load, project cards stagger in, hero text animates, and key metrics count up—guiding attention, avoiding layout shifts, and signalling quality.
Project Info Scroll Reveal
In the portfolio page section, project details fade in on scroll, adding depth and guiding focus as users explore.
Header Logo Animation
In the site header, the logo animates on page load, adding a branded touch and drawing attention to the navigation area.
Animated Portfolio Previews
Static portfolio thumbnails were originally non-interactive images. I animated some of them using a standard After Effects pipeline, while others – with more complex shapes – were enhanced using AI tools such as Midjourney and Kling. All animated previews were also resized and optimised for the mobile versions of the site. I proposed that these animations play only as a hover effect on mouse-over, ensuring the site remains visually clean and not overloaded with constant motion, while still providing engaging, motion-driven previews that attract attention and encourage exploration.
Current Status
Out of the proposed animations, the agency has already implemented:
• Hover effects for cards.
• Logo animation.
• Section transitions.
Currently under review or in progress:
• Scroll-based animations.
• Microinteractions for forms and icons.
• Portfolio card animations.
Next Steps
Once all animations are implemented, the case will be updated with final examples from the live website.
